Safe Notes is an open-source desktop application for storing encrypted private notes and other sensitive data locally. It supports notes containing passwords, credit-card information, images, and other data, using a master-password workflow and multi-cipher cascade encryption. The product is aimed at solo users and small teams that want offline access and local control on Windows or Linux rather than a cloud-based notes service.

The published plans show a freemium structure. Free includes personal private use, a free download, and a 4-cipher encryption cascade. Advanced adds a 6-cipher cascade, 256–2240-bit data-key security, and advanced settings. Premium adds an 8-cipher cascade, 2240–16384-bit data-key security, new-generation ciphers, and built-in two-factor authentication. The official site presents recommended one-time license prices or ranges, so the plan structure is oriented around licensing rather than recurring subscription tiers.

Security features are the main differentiator. Alongside encrypted local files, Safe Notes includes password generation and checking, steganography for hiding information in images, secure messaging and email encryption, secure deletion, free-space wiping, and portable single-executable mode. That breadth may suit users who want one desktop utility for several privacy tasks, but it also makes the product less focused than a dedicated notes app. Platform coverage is limited to Windows and Linux, with Linux use documented through Wine, and deployment is desktop-only. Choose Safe Notes for local, offline note storage with layered privacy tools; choose another category option if cross-device access or a narrowly focused notes workflow matters more.
