RSA Authenticator (SecurID) review
A broad enterprise authenticator for organizations already using RSA identity services.

RSA Authenticator (SecurID) is a software authenticator for organizations using RSA identity and access services. It supports one-time passwords, push approvals, QR-code authentication, code matching, biometrics and device-bound passkeys, depending on organizational configuration. The app runs on iOS, Android, Windows and macOS, and can authenticate access to protected resources such as VPN applications and cloud applications. RSA states that users must belong to an RSA customer organization to register and use it, making this a focused choice for enterprise deployments rather than an independent consumer authenticator.
Its strongest fit is breadth of authentication methods. Organizations can combine OTPs with push approvals, code matching, biometrics and FIDO2 authentication, while offline OTP supports access when connectivity is unavailable. Credential registration and import are included, and the iOS and Android app supports up to 30 credentials. Integrations include RSA Cloud Access Service, RSA Authentication Manager, VPN applications and Microsoft 365. This combination suits teams that need several authentication options across managed platforms and existing RSA services.
Commercial access follows a contact-sales model. The mobile app is distributed at no charge, but use depends on the organization's RSA customer relationship and associated RSA identity services. RSA Authenticator should be considered by enterprise customers that need FIDO2, OTP and push options with RSA ecosystem integration. It is less suitable for individuals seeking a standalone authenticator, a free plan independent of an employer, encrypted backup or synchronization across multiple devices.
