Our verdict on RIB iTWO
RIB iTWO is construction project management software for architecture and engineering offices, contractors, public administrations, infrastructure companies and industrial construction departments. Its focus is 5D delivery: connecting 3D CAD and BIM model data with quantity measurement, estimating, tendering, scheduling, billing and cost control. The product is suited to multi-discipline teams that need model-based commercial and project workflows rather than design authoring alone.
RIB offers several packages for different operating needs. RIB iTWO Planer Enterprise Edition covers project management, construction administration, planning, estimating and control. RIB iTWO für KMU focuses on LV editing, bid estimating, quantity measurement and billing. The Austrian ÖNORM package adds planning, estimating, billing, budget management and construction-site control, while the CH-Norm packages cover tendering, bills of quantities, billing, budget management, controlling, cost planning, site control and offer optimization. RIB iTWO 5D adds model-based planning, quantity extraction, model-oriented tendering, billing and estimating, with IFC and CPIXML interfaces. The Nachhaltigkeit (B) package brings sustainability requirements into cost planning, tendering, estimating and construction workflows. The published plans show contact-sales pricing rather than fixed amounts.
Integration breadth is a central strength. RIB iTWO connects with RIB Civil, AKG VESTRA, card1, Autodesk Revit, Allplan, Vectorworks, Graphisoft Archicad, Tekla, Trimble Nova, DDS CAD, ERP systems and e-tendering and procurement systems. Its feature set also includes clash and interference checking, model-based bills of quantities, invoice checking, payment approval and cloud-hosted collaboration with project partners. Windows-only coverage makes it most appropriate for organizations already aligned with that environment. Choose RIB iTWO when cost planning, quantities, tendering and construction control need to share one 5D workflow; choose a narrower tool when the requirement is limited to BIM coordination or basic estimating.
