Our verdict on RevelRaw
RevelRaw is a macOS application for photographers who want to edit camera RAW files and make repeatable adjustments across a shoot. It combines exposure and color controls with scene-ranked presets, AI denoise, selective masks and local processing. Its focus is photo development rather than a broad, layer-heavy image-editing workflow, so it suits Mac photographers seeking lower-cost RAW edits better than users who need a general-purpose Photoshop alternative.
RAW support is a practical strength: RevelRaw opens 24 camera RAW formats, including Canon CR3, Nikon NEF, Sony ARW and DNG. Scene recognition ranks more than 40 presets, and users can import compatible Lightroom .xmp presets and .cube LUTs. Selective editing uses gradients and brush masks, with up to three layers per photo. Edit syncing lets users copy and paste selected adjustments across photos, while AI denoise addresses luminance and color noise. Processing runs locally on the Mac, and offline editing is supported. Exports include JPEG, PNG, TIFF and HEIF, with presets for social, web and print.
The free plan allows unlimited photo editing and includes one full-quality export. Paid plans add unlimited full-resolution exports without a watermark and batch export: Monthly costs $3.99 per month, Yearly costs $24.99 per year, and Lifetime access is $94.99 one time. The vendor says prices may vary by App Store region. That structure gives occasional editors a no-cost way to work, while frequent exporters can pay for batch handling or a one-time license. Choose RevelRaw for local RAW development, selective adjustments and editing across a shoot; look elsewhere if your work depends on deeper layer stacks, PSD support or third-party plugins.
