ResourceSpace is open-source digital asset management software for organizations that need to store, organize, search, review and distribute images, video, audio, documents and other files. It suits charities, museums, cultural institutions, media and publishing companies, public-sector organizations and education providers. The platform supports web, Linux, Windows, macOS and self-hosted deployments, giving teams a choice between local installation and hosted cloud packages.
Its pricing structure is a notable part of the buying decision. The software has no license fee, and a free 10GB cloud service is available. Paid hosted options are Team Cloud for 25 users, Business Cloud for 100 users, Enterprise Cloud for 500 users and Platinum Cloud for unlimited users. All are hosted cloud packages, with API access included across the plans. Business, Enterprise and Platinum add optional public access, while Enterprise and Platinum include priority support. Team Cloud also lists SFTP drop-folder access and AI productivity tools. Billing is annual by default, with monthly payment available on request, and hosted packages are discussed according to requirements.
ResourceSpace stands out when a DAM needs more than basic file storage. Configurable metadata fields support metadata-based search, while AI capabilities include metadata generation, facial recognition and speech-to-text transcription. Workflow states, configurable actions, user-contributed asset approval, secure expiring URLs, passwords, access controls, version reverting, usage reports and download logs support structured content operations. Integrations include Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, Figma, Canva, Microsoft Office, YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr, Dropbox, OneDrive, Box, WordPress and Drupal. Choose ResourceSpace for open-source control and broad workflow needs; teams seeking only simple upload-and-share functions may prefer a narrower tool.
