RentPayment is an online rent-payment service from MRI Software for multifamily, commercial, HOA, and self-storage properties. It gives residents a web portal and mobile app for payment and account management, with additional payment access through email links, phone, and selected in-person channels. Property managers can accept credit-card, debit-card, ACH/eCheck, and, where enabled, PayByCash payments through MoneyGram. The product is aimed at established operators that need resident payment access alongside payment notifications, deposit confirmations, reporting, and clearing workflows.

Pricing is handled through contact sales, with pricing tailored to property needs rather than presented as fixed public tiers. The feature set covers recurring AutoPay with fixed-amount or full-balance options, email and text reminders, receipts, and manager notifications. Reporting and property-management-system integrations support back-office workflows, while web, iOS, and Android access gives residents multiple ways to manage payments. Operators should account for rail-specific timing: cards may take 2–3 business days to clear, while eChecks may take 3–5 business days.

RentPayment’s breadth is its main strength, particularly for portfolios that need cards, bank payments, enabled cash payments, recurring collection, reminders, and operational follow-through in one service. Its founding in 1999 also gives the product a long operating history. The trade-offs matter for buyers comparing alternatives: sales-led pricing makes early cost comparison less direct, payment availability varies by property, and the published clearing windows are not immediate. Choose RentPayment for a mature, multi-channel payment operation with reporting and integration needs; consider a different option if transparent self-serve pricing or faster payout timing is the priority.
