RentMouse review
A broad free starter platform for landlords managing rental units online.

RentMouse is a web-based property management platform for small landlords in the United States and Canada. It brings property and unit management, tenant applications and screening, lease creation with digital signatures, online rent collection, maintenance tracking, financial reporting, document storage, tenant communications, and tenant portal access into one product. Tenants can make online payments, view receipts and lease documents, submit maintenance requests, and communicate with landlords. The free plan includes the first rental unit forever, while a 14-day free trial is also available.
The plan structure is straightforward at a high level. Free includes online rent collection, automated rent reminders, and financial reports and analytics for the first rental unit. Basic manages up to five units, and Pro supports unlimited units. The published plan details make RentMouse a practical starting point for landlords who want to centralize payments and core rental administration without committing to a paid tier immediately. Landlords should review the current plan terms directly before upgrading, particularly if unit volume is likely to change.
RentMouse’s feature breadth is its main distinction. Alongside bank and card payment processing, autopay, and reminders, it offers maintenance requests with vendor assignment, tenant applications and screening, digital lease signatures, and AI-assisted lease, maintenance, and listing content generation. Stripe, Plaid, and Google Firebase are listed integrations. The trade-off is platform scope: access is web-only, and the Basic plan’s five-unit limit may be restrictive for growing portfolios. Choose RentMouse if you want a broad online starter tool with a free entry point; consider an alternative if native mobile access or a less tiered unit structure is essential.
