RenderKit Utilities is a free, open-source Minecraft shaderpack for creators making thumbnails, renders, and composites. Its controls prioritize deliberate scene presentation over broad visual enhancement: users can adjust lighting and color effects, create subject cutouts, and change how blocks, water, and sky appear. Quick profiles for flat renders, green screens, masks, and grayscale blocks make the intended workflows clear. It is a fit for solo creators and small teams who want to shape a render or prepare assets for compositing, rather than players seeking a general-purpose visual overhaul.

The standout feature is the range of independent render controls. Lightmaps, directional face shading, ambient occlusion, fog, clouds, and entity blob shadows can each be toggled independently. For compositing, the pack supports chroma backgrounds and black-and-white cutout masks; visible pixels can also be replaced with a solid color, and blocks can be converted to grayscale. Biome color variation and vegetation tinting, plus controls to hide, tint, or recolor water while preserving transparency, add options for scenes where the environment needs to be simplified or recolored. Exposure, contrast, saturation, gamma, temperature, and posterization provide further color grading.

Compatibility is the main practical constraint: Iris is required, while OptiFine is not officially supported. The project description notes a current beta tested on Minecraft 1.21.11, while the category version support lists 1.21.x and 1.20.1–1.20.6. Mods with custom rendering pipelines may bypass some shader options, so projects relying on consistent effects across such mods may need another approach. RenderKit Utilities makes sense when control over masks, flat lighting, and colors is the priority; creators looking for general visual enhancement or a different loader should choose another shaderpack.
