Our verdict on RecForge II
RecForge II is an Android audio recorder and editor for voice memos, interviews, lectures, music practice, field recording and podcasts. It records in MP3, M4A, OGG, WMA, OPUS, FLAC, Speex and WAV, with selectable sample rates and channels. Waveform trimming, cutting, cropping, merging and concatenation support practical editing, while format conversion and video-audio extraction extend its use beyond simple recording. External-microphone support, silence skipping, independent tempo and pitch controls, and background recording make it suitable for solo creators and small teams working from a phone.
The Free plan costs $0 and includes recording, editing and conversion features with no recording-time limit, but it is ad-supported. RecForge II Pro is a separate one-time purchase that removes ads and provides full recording, editing and conversion features, also without a recording-time limit. The two-plan structure keeps core capture and conversion available without a subscription, while the paid option focuses on removing advertising and unlocking the complete feature set.
RecForge II fits Android-centered workflows through the Android share sheet and direct sharing to WhatsApp, email, Google Drive and Dropbox. Metadata tags and cover-art editing help prepare files for distribution, and email and documentation provide the stated support channels. Its strongest case is mobile recording followed by focused waveform edits, conversion or sharing. Buyers seeking a phone-based recorder with many export formats should consider it; teams that need a desktop-oriented production environment or deeper mixing workflows should look for a tool centered on those requirements instead.
