Rain POS is a cloud-based point-of-sale and retail management platform for craft stores, boutiques, outdoor retailers, and other specialty retailers. It combines checkout and integrated payments with inventory tracking, purchasing, barcode workflows, ecommerce fulfillment, customer records, loyalty, reporting, employee permissions, and marketing. Its specialty focus is clear in support for rentals, classes, consignment, product variants, and serialized inventory. The platform runs across web, Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android, making it suitable for retailers operating both physical and online stores.

According to the vendor’s pricing page, the Startup plan costs $99 per month with annual billing. It includes native POS and website integration, integrated payments, unlimited phone and email support, unlimited users and products, basic reports, and ecommerce order fulfillment. Core adds multi-location functionality, product styles and options, consignment, classes, and QuickBooks integration. Plus adds serialized inventory, work orders, native email marketing, text messaging, and Shopify integration. This tier structure gives smaller specialty retailers a clear entry point while reserving several operational, marketing, and integration features for higher plans.

Rain POS is a strong fit when a retailer needs more than standard checkout and stock counts. Its combination of synchronized ecommerce, purchasing, customer tracking, rewards, employee permissions, and marketing supports an ongoing customer-retention program. Integrations with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Shopify, Notions Marketing, Avalara, and TaxJar extend its accounting, ecommerce, marketing, and tax workflows. Retailers should look elsewhere if they need a free plan, bundled hardware, or a simple checkout system without specialty operations. Choose Rain POS for broad retail management and customer engagement; avoid it if third-party hardware or tiered access to advanced features does not suit the operation.
