Our verdict on Quran for Android
Quran for Android is a free, open-source app from Quran Foundation, Inc. for people who want to read, study or listen to the Quran on an Android phone or tablet. It pairs Madani-style page images with translations and tafsir in multiple languages, and supports searching across translations. The reading experience also includes bookmarks, tags, sharing and night mode, with display support for tablets and other large screens.
Its strongest case is the combination of page-based reading and study tools with recitation controls. Audio playback highlights verses and includes gapless playback and repeat controls, making it useful for following a recitation or returning to a passage. Translations and tafsir are available in multiple languages; the Google Play listing describes availability in over 20 languages. The app's open-source model and free availability make it a fit for readers who want these Quran-focused tools without a paid plan.
The platform boundary is clear: the app is for Android, so readers looking for a version on another platform should choose an alternative. Its scope is also intentionally specific to Quran reading, study and audio rather than a broader religious library. Android users seeking searchable translations, tafsir, page images and recitation in one free app are likely to find a strong match here; people who need another mobile platform or a wider collection of religious texts should look elsewhere.
