Prologue is an audiobook player for personal libraries hosted on Plex or Audiobookshelf. It is designed for listeners who already manage their own audiobook files and want an Apple-focused app for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, or Apple Vision. Rather than providing a catalog of included titles, Prologue connects to configured servers and presents those libraries for listening. Library data is stored on users’ devices rather than on Prologue’s servers.
The feature set covers both library organization and everyday playback. Users can arrange books into collections and series, maintain bookmarks and reading lists, and review playback history, listening statistics, and streaks. Offline downloads support listening away from a server connection, while sleep timers, smart rewind after pauses, voice boost, equalization, and per-book playback settings provide more control over playback.
