ProConnect Tax review
A cloud tax suite for firms handling individual and varied business returns.

For U.S. tax preparers and accounting firms, ProConnect Tax combines cloud-based return preparation with federal and state e-filing. It covers individual returns as well as partnerships, S and C corporations, estates and trusts, nonprofits, and gift tax. That breadth makes it relevant to firms with mixed client portfolios, rather than practices focused only on individual filings. The web-based product also includes client document collection, digital signatures, IRS transcript retrieval, and tax-planning tools.
The purchasing options suit different filing volumes: annual bundles range from Essentials 50 to Advanced, with 50, 100, 200, or 400 individual returns, respectively. Essentials plans are for one user, Plus includes two users, and Advanced is multi-user; all include states and unlimited 1099/W2 filing. Business returns carry an additional fee on these bundles. Separate pay-as-you-go options let firms buy individual or business returns as needed, while upfront individual-return options offer volume pricing at 50 or more and 100 or more returns. These are paid plans, and e-filing, printing, and several advanced features require paid User Access. Firms should compare their entity mix and user needs before choosing a bundle.
Data workflows are a notable part of the offer: prior-year 1040 imports, CSV and Excel business imports, QuickBooks and books-to-tax workflows, K-1 handling, and Import Hub document uploads can support preparation across client records. Integrations include Intuit Accountant Suite, Google Drive, Dropbox, Intuit Link, SmartVault, Ignition, and Karbon. AI-assisted import, navigation, and diagnostics add another layer to preparation. ProConnect is a fit for small and mid-market firms that need broad return coverage and connected workflows; firms seeking a no-cost filing plan or whose business returns make per-return fees impractical should consider alternatives.
