Private Captcha review
Adaptive, invisible bot checks with managed and self-hosted deployment options.

Private Captcha protects websites, forms and APIs with invisible cryptographic proof-of-work rather than visual puzzles. Its adaptive difficulty responds to access patterns, while rate limiting and configurable traffic rules help teams shape how requests are handled. The product is aimed at organizations that want bot checks with privacy controls, including teams that prefer a managed service and those that need self-hosting or EU-only routing options. It is not a fit for buyers who specifically need visual or audio challenges as a CAPTCHA mode.
For managed use, the monthly tier is €5 per month, and the annual option is €60 per year with two months free; both include all features, and prices exclude VAT. A 14-day free trial is available. Self-hosting is priced separately: Community costs €19 per month and allows commercial use, full data ownership, unlimited requests and properties, and one organization. Enterprise costs €199 per month and adds unlimited organizations, email support, custom rules, audit logs and the Platform API. This gives buyers a choice between managed access and greater operational control, though the self-hosted tiers have a higher listed monthly price.
Its feature set extends beyond the challenge itself: teams can forward form submissions after CAPTCHA and rate-limit checks, configure signed-cookie validity for scraping protection, and use usage statistics and email reports. Widget themes, languages and CSS are customizable. Integration options span languages and frameworks such as .NET, Go, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Python, Ruby, React and Vue, alongside WordPress, Magento 2, TYPO3, Contact Form 7 and Django. Choose Private Captcha when invisible checks, configurable traffic controls and deployment choice matter more than puzzle-based challenges; consider another product if visual or audio challenges are essential.
