Poetix is a browser-based narrative design platform for game developers creating branching stories. Its visual beat-and-choice editor supports dialogue, variables, conditions, and consequences, while the interactive simulator lets teams explore paths with variable overrides. Character and image management, web publishing, and role-based collaboration extend the workflow beyond drafting. It is best suited to small Unity teams that want AI-assisted authoring in a web application.

The Free plan includes unlimited stories and scenes, the full non-linear beat editor, public sharing links, up to three writers per story, unlimited readers, and 50 AI co-writer credits per month. Pro costs $15 per month and adds 2,000 AI credits monthly, along with the option to bring an OpenAI key for unlimited AI use. Studio costs $39 per month, includes Pro features, allows up to five stories to be upgraded, and supports up to 25 collaborators per upgraded story. This gives solo creators and small teams a usable entry point, while larger collaboration needs require the Studio tier.

Poetix’s ecosystem fit is focused: stories can be published as playable web experiences and exported for use in Unity, with a Unity runtime API listed among its features. The Unity export guide is currently marked as coming soon, so teams planning their production workflow should account for that documentation status. The platform’s strength is focused narrative authoring rather than broad engine coverage. Choose Poetix for branching story design, AI-assisted proposals, simulation, and Unity-oriented collaboration; consider an alternative if your project requires support across multiple game engines or a wider production pipeline.
