Our verdict on Plunet BusinessManager
Plunet BusinessManager is web-based business and translation management software for language service providers and corporate translation departments. It brings customer requests, quotes, orders, workflows, vendor assignments, project files, invoices, reporting, and translation-technology integrations into one operating environment. The strongest fit is a language agency that needs structured vendor management and billing alongside project delivery, or a corporate language department that needs controlled translation operations.
The plan structure scales by internal user count and operating model. AgencyStart begins with 2 full user licenses and includes 50 concurrent freelancer and client licenses, SaaS hosting on Plunet servers, and a 30-day free trial. AgencyPlus starts from 5 full user licenses and adds unlimited freelancer, vendor, and client licenses, dynamic CAT integrations, and a choice of on-premises or SaaS hosting. AgencyAdvanced starts from 20 full user licenses and adds the Plunet API for third-party integrations. Enterprise is aimed at language departments in corporations and institutions, with unlimited concurrent agency and client licenses, SAML or LDAP integrations, API access, on-premises or SaaS hosting, and a dev/staging environment. The plans use a contact-sales pricing model rather than published prices, and there is no free plan.
Integration depth is a central part of the product’s positioning. Plunet lists connections for memoQ, Phrase, SDL Trados Studio, SDL WorldServer, Across Language Server, XTM Cloud, Wordfast, Transit, Translation Workspace, and other translation tools. Its API supports reading, writing, synchronization, and automation, while automated project cost calculation and customizable customer and vendor price lists connect production work with commercial administration. Agencies that need configurable workflows, portals, vendor assignment, reporting, and invoicing should consider Plunet. Organizations seeking a narrowly focused translation-memory or terminology system should look elsewhere unless those needs are covered through its integrations.
