Our verdict on Pix Alarm
Pix Alarm is an Android alarm clock for people who want more control over how alarms look and how they are dismissed. Alarms can use custom photos or GIFs, and each can have its own sound, clock style, vibration, and challenge. Challenges include solving math, retyping text, identifying the odd one out, or shaking the device. It also tracks wake-up times, snoozes, and consistency, making it a fit for users who want a basic view of their waking habits alongside alarm customization.
The free plan allows up to 8 alarms, custom photos, dismissal challenges, and sleep statistics for up to 90 days. Recurring schedules, a countdown timer, widgets, alarm backup and restore, gradual volume, and a sunrise screen round out the feature set. The app does not require an account for core alarm features, and its published platform support starts at Android 7.0. This is a focused mobile utility rather than a cross-platform alarm service; its appeal rests on the combination of visual personalization and wake-up challenges.
Pix Alarm makes sense for Android users who want alarms tied to selected days, per-alarm settings, and a record of wake-up patterns without paying for the listed free plan. The challenge options may help people who want dismissal to require more than a tap, but they add friction for anyone who prefers a plain, quick-to-dismiss alarm. Users who need a different mobile platform should look elsewhere. For a photo-based alarm with simple tracking, Pix Alarm covers the essentials; people seeking a more straightforward clock may find its challenge-led approach unnecessary.
