PianoConvert review
A low-cost web app for turning piano audio into editable notation and exportable files.

PianoConvert is a web application from La Touche Musicale that automatically transcribes piano recordings into sheet music. It is aimed at pianists, music teachers, composers, and learners who want to convert a performance into notation they can edit, print, or use in other music software. Input can come from a YouTube link or an uploaded MP3 or WAV file. The resulting transcription includes treble and bass clefs, tempo, and measure information, with PDF, MIDI, and MusicXML export options.
Pricing is structured around a free plan and three paid tiers. Free allows 30-second conversions, 10 sheet edits, and PDF, MIDI, and MusicXML exports. Monthly Solo costs €9 and includes one transcription app, 10 conversions per month, and unlimited sheet editing. Galaxy costs €19 monthly for access to all transcription apps and 100 conversions per month, while Universe costs €29 for transcription and learning apps and 300 conversions per month. Annual billing displays lower monthly equivalents: €4 for Solo, €9 for Galaxy, and €14 for Universe. All paid plans include the three export formats and unlimited sheet editing.
The product’s strongest fit is piano-focused work where editable notation and multiple output formats matter. MIDI and MusicXML support make the results usable beyond a PDF score, while in-browser sheet editing provides a way to refine the transcription. The narrow focus is also its main boundary: it is designed for piano-only material rather than a broad music-transcription workflow, and tablature is not part of the listed output set. Choose PianoConvert for affordable piano transcription through a browser, particularly if a free trial workflow or annual pricing suits your needs. Choose an alternative if you need native desktop access or transcription centered on instruments beyond piano.
