Penpot is a web-based, open-source UI design and prototyping platform for designers, developers, and product teams. It combines responsive interface design using CSS Grid and Flex layouts with interactive prototypes, reusable components, variants, styles, shared libraries, design tokens, and developer inspection. Teams can collaborate through real-time multiplayer editing, share prototypes through viewable links, and choose between hosted cloud use and self-hosted deployment.
The pricing structure starts with the free Professional plan at $0 per user per month, with up to 8 team members, unlimited viewers, up to 10GB of storage, and unlimited design files. The Unlimited plan costs $7 per user per month and adds up to 25GB of storage, 30 days of autosaved versions, and 30 days of deleted file recovery. Enterprise costs $25 per user per month and adds a centralized admin console, advanced team permissions, Single Sign-On, audit logs, and unlimited storage. A Private Server option provides dedicated private infrastructure management, enterprise SSO and access controls, SCIM role assignment, hosting-region choice, and IP whitelisting.
