Our verdict on PCDJ DEX 3 RE

PCDJ DEX 3 RE is desktop DJ software for Windows and macOS, built around a two-deck interface and mixer. It suits beginner, bedroom, mobile, club, and other live-performance DJs who need core mixing tools alongside karaoke playback. Beat-grid BPM detection, one-click beat sync, looping, hot cues, effects, vinyl simulation, automix, shuffle, headphone previewing, and mix recording cover a broad set of basic performance needs. MP3+G karaoke support with lyrics output gives it a clear fit for DJs who also manage sing-along sets.

The paid DEX 3 RE plan includes Windows and macOS support, two DJ decks, basic karaoke, support for 85+ DJ controllers, and activation on three computers from one purchase. It also includes MIDI Learn for controllers and keyboard mapping, plus compatibility with ASIO and CoreAudio. iTunes playlist import and a searchable media library support familiar music organization, while recording to MP3, WAV, or AIFF gives performers a way to save mixes. There is no free plan, so the software is positioned as a direct paid purchase rather than a free-entry product.

PCDJ DEX 3 RE is strongest when the priority is straightforward two-deck mixing with karaoke and hardware flexibility. It offers useful performance depth without expanding into every area of modern DJ software. DJs who need verified stems, DVS, or video mixing should choose an alternative built around those capabilities instead. For basic audio sets, karaoke events, and users working across Windows and macOS with supported controllers, its focused feature set is a practical match.
