Our verdict on Pathwright

Pathwright is a web-based learning platform for educators, organizations, and teams that run online courses and cohort experiences. Its step-by-step Paths can include scheduled or self-paced Cohorts, separate teachers and schedules, discussions, learner profiles, activity timelines, assignments, review workflows, and mentoring. It suits established cohort schools that need more than course hosting, particularly when multiple groups, instructors, progress reports, and course commerce need to sit in one system. Access is available on web, iOS, Android, and through an API, with the iOS app described as beta and mobile access otherwise browser-based.

Pricing scales mainly through cohort capacity, mentoring, commerce, and administrative features. Starter costs $99 per month with monthly billing or $89 per month with annual billing, and includes unlimited courses, one active Cohort per course, one administrator, up to 1,000 members, and one Mentor Group. Essentials costs $199 monthly or $179 with annual billing, adding up to three Cohorts per course, a custom domain, one subscription plan, up to five Mentor Groups, and 2,000+ Zapier apps. Complete costs $499 monthly or $449 annually, adding unlimited Cohorts per course, multiple subscription plans, course certificates, and up to 20 Mentor Groups. Enterprise costs $1,499 monthly or $1,349 annually, with custom SSO, GraphQL API access, unlimited Mentor Groups, priority support, and 5,000+ Zapier apps. A 30-day free trial is available, but there is no free plan.

The standout strength is the combination of cohort operations and learner accountability. Pathwright supports assignment uploads, instructor feedback, points, grades, report cards, progress percentages, CSV reports, and Mentor Groups across multiple courses. Stripe supports payments, while Zapier, Intercom, Zendesk Chat, Slack via Smallchat, SSO, and GraphQL API access extend its ecosystem fit. Live-session links can connect to Zoom, Google Hangouts, Skype, and other tools, but conferencing is not built in. Choose Pathwright when structured cohorts, mentoring, reporting, and commerce matter together; consider an alternative if built-in video conferencing or a free tier is essential.
