PantherPayments is PracticePanther’s built-in payment processor for law firms. It supports credit-card and debit-card payments, ACH and eCheck payments, payment plans with recurring charges, client-portal invoice payments, and OneLink shareable payment links. Firms can direct deposits to operating or trust accounts, track retainer and trust balances, send automated reminders, and maintain payment and trust-account reconciliation records. Its web, iOS, and Android availability suits firms that want payment collection connected to a broader legal practice-management and billing platform.
The four subscription tiers add capabilities beyond payment processing. Solo includes native ePayments with PantherPayments, internal chat, real-time notifications, document templates, and task and event workflows. Essential adds custom fields, custom security roles, invoice read alerts, and multiple bank accounts. Business adds native two-way texting, intake forms, native eSignature, and LEDES Billing. Business Pro adds PantherAccounting Plus, trust accounting, operating accounting, and an enhanced reconciliation process. The published plan structure makes Business Pro the clearest fit for firms that need accounting and reconciliation features alongside payments.
PantherPayments is strongest for firms already choosing PracticePanther and wanting cards, ACH, recurring charges, portal payments, trust balances, and payment records in one environment. It is less suitable for a firm seeking a separately priced payment application or a free option. Subscription plans include or support PantherPayments, while transaction fees are separate, so buyers should evaluate both the PracticePanther tier and payment costs together. Firms that need native trust-account workflows and legal billing features should consider it; firms seeking a standalone processor should look elsewhere.
