Our verdict on PaintVue

PaintVue is a browser-based visualizer for previewing exterior paint colors on uploaded home photos. Homeowners can generate AI-rendered previews, while painting professionals can use the project and presentation tools to discuss exterior schemes with clients. It is oriented toward exterior proposals rather than broad paint exploration: the color selection is Sherwin-Williams, and there is no live camera AR mode or native mobile app. That focus suits painters who need a photo-based way to compare exterior surfaces, but it is a narrower fit for shoppers seeking interior previews or mobile augmented reality.

The render-credit plans have one-time prices: Free includes 3 renders on signup; Starter costs $1.99 for 4 renders; Standard costs $8.99 for 20; and Bulk costs $18.99 for 75. Credits on the paid credit plans never expire. Pro costs $29 per month and adds unlimited renders and refinements, an AI color advisor, branded PDF proposals, a client portal, and pipeline tools. Contractor costs $79 per month and includes Pro features for the whole company, a website visualizer widget, and 3 painter leads a month. This structure lets occasional users pay per render, while recurring client work may justify a monthly plan.

Its professional workflow goes beyond generating an image: users can choose separate colors for walls, trim, doors, shutters, and garage doors, compare schemes side by side, refine renders, save them by house, and share them through links. Branded proposals and client color approval tools support presenting options, while the embeddable widget extends the visualizer to a painting company's website on Contractor. Painting professionals preparing exterior client proposals are the clearest fit, especially if they need those presentation features. Choose another tool if you need more than Sherwin-Williams colors, interior visualization, or a native mobile and AR experience.
