Our verdict on Pages CMS
Pages CMS is an open-source Git-based CMS for static sites and applications whose content lives in GitHub repositories. It gives editors a web interface for structured fields, raw files, code, datagrids, rich text, and media, so small teams can manage repository content without requiring every contributor to learn Git. Changes are saved directly to GitHub, and the responsive interface is optimized for mobile use.
The published Free plan includes the online hosted version, Vercel deployment, self-hosting, and MIT-licensed source code. Its editing depth is the main draw: the WYSIWYG rich-text editor can output Markdown or HTML, while image and file fields provide extension, category, folder, and rename controls. Collections support search, sorting, list views, and tree views. Media uploads can be stored in configurable repository paths, giving teams control over how assets are organized.
Pages CMS fits a GitHub-centered content workflow rather than a broad multi-provider CMS ecosystem. GitHub Actions buttons can be configured to dispatch workflows for deployment or other content operations, and Vercel is included among its integrations. Email-invited collaborators can edit without GitHub accounts, which lowers the barrier for occasional contributors. PostgreSQL is also listed as an integration. Choose Pages CMS if free GitHub editing, open-source access, and direct Git-based publishing matter most.
