Padlet Sandbox is a collaborative digital canvas for educators, teams, and other groups that need structured, card-based activities. Users can organize drawings, text, sticky notes, shapes, connectors, media, links, and interactive elements into Sandboxes. Real-time collaboration, writer permissions, templates, presentations, breakout rooms, polls, and card-level permissions support classroom lessons, workshops, and group projects. It runs on the web, Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.

The freemium structure gives users a Free plan with 3 padlets, a 20MB maximum upload size, 1 user account, and Sandbox creations. Platinum costs €15 per user per month when billed monthly and adds unlimited padlets, a 500MB maximum upload size, 1 user account, and API access. Classroom includes 2 teachers, 100 free student accounts, unlimited padlets, role-based permissions, and an analytics dashboard. School & District includes 10 teachers, unlimited students, unlimited padlets, SSO support, and LMS integrations. The paid entry point makes Padlet Sandbox a stronger fit for teams that need more than the free quota.

Its education ecosystem is a central strength. Integrations include Google Drive, Google Classroom, Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, Schoology, and Microsoft Teams, while SSO and LMS integrations are available in the School & District plan. The product also supports hyperlink-based navigation between cards, reusable layouts, recordings, media uploads, and AI image generation. Choose Padlet Sandbox when card-based structure, teaching workflows, permissions, and presentation playback matter more than an open-ended workspace. Choose another whiteboard tool if an infinite canvas is essential or if the €15 monthly starting price does not suit the budget.
