Hansoft, now branded P4 Plan, is an enterprise project and portfolio planning application from Perforce Software. It is designed for software and product teams coordinating backlogs, schedules, releases, quality issues, resources, and dependencies across Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Gantt, Waterfall, and hybrid methods. For game teams, its main appeal is bringing planning and QA into one system rather than treating bug tracking as a separate workspace.

The published plans show a Free option for up to five users. Paid access is available through an annual subscription or perpetual license, with quote-based pricing. That model gives organizations two licensing paths, but buyers will need a sales conversation to compare paid costs. Time reporting and timesheets are supported, although the vendor documents time reporting as an optional module. The free tier is therefore most relevant to very small teams evaluating a limited deployment, while larger teams should assess the paid licensing structure directly.

P4 Plan covers a wide operational scope: product backlogs, Gantt scheduling, Kanban boards, Agile and Scrum planning, configurable workflows, dashboards, reports, burndown charts, resource allocation, portfolio planning, field-level permissions, and limited visibility. Teams can connect Helix Core/P4, Jira, and Helix ALM, and use the GraphQL API, SDK, and webhooks for broader system connections. Deployment spans web, Windows, macOS, Linux, API access, and self-managed infrastructure. Choose it when planning, resource coordination, and quality assurance need to share one environment. Choose a narrower issue tracker instead if the team only needs lightweight bug capture and does not need portfolio, scheduling, workflow, or permissions depth.

  • Where it doesn't
    • Paid plans use quote-based pricing, which complicates upfront comparison
