Our verdict on OurGroceries
OurGroceries is a grocery-list app for households that want to create, share, and synchronize shopping lists across devices. It supports shared household lists, multiple lists, recipes, item photos, notes, quantities, categories, barcodes, and automatic grouping by grocery-store aisles. Lists are shared through a common OurGroceries account, with changes appearing across connected devices. The service is available on the web, macOS, iOS, and Android, with support for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Wear OS, and other connected devices.
The free plan provides the core shopping-list experience and includes advertising. The paid options are Remove Ads and Remove Ads Lifetime, both focused on removing advertising for the household. The published starting price is 0.99, and a seven-day free trial is available. Upgrade prices vary by country, with purchases handled through the App Store or Google Play. This structure suits households that want to begin without paying and decide later whether removing ads is worthwhile.
Its strongest advantage is breadth within everyday grocery planning. Recipes can add ingredients to shopping lists, barcode scanning helps add products, and aisle grouping can organize items for a store visit. Voice access through Amazon Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant extends list management beyond the phone, while Instacart, Apple Watch, and Wear OS add further ecosystem fit. Choose OurGroceries if shared lists, flexible item details, recipe support, and broad device access matter more than a narrowly focused checklist. Households seeking paid features beyond ad removal should consider whether its upgrade structure matches their needs.
