OSPOS review
A practical free mobile POS for small food businesses that can work offline.

OSPOS is a mobile point-of-sale application for merchants and small businesses, including food trucks, cafés, market vendors, salons, mobile service providers, and retail shops. It supports menu building with categories and modifiers, discounts, per-item tax handling, cash and card payments, email receipts, sales summaries, CSV exports, and offline transactions. The app runs on iPhone, iPad, and Android devices, with optional pairing between an iPad and iPhone. For small food businesses that need core checkout tools without a monthly software charge, its scope is focused and accessible.
Pricing is built around Cash and Card. Cash costs $0 with no monthly fee. Card payments use the merchant’s Stripe account and add a 1% OSPOS transaction fee to the merchant’s Stripe rate. The published plans do not show a recurring paid software tier. Offline cash transactions can be recorded without a connection, while queued card payments settle after reconnection. This makes the pricing structure easier to understand for merchants already prepared to use Stripe, but payment costs depend on that Stripe arrangement and the added OSPOS fee.
OSPOS is strongest when a business needs a mobile register with straightforward menu and tax controls, sold-out item toggles, hourly reporting on iPad, date-range CSV exports, and two-device iPad and iPhone pairing. Stripe is its listed integration, so businesses seeking a wider ecosystem may find the fit limited. It also does not provide verified inventory, employee controls, or multi-location support. Choose OSPOS for a small, mobile-first operation that values free cash POS and offline capability; choose an alternative when inventory accuracy, staff management, multiple locations, or wider platform coverage are central requirements.
