OpenStitch review
Open-source, multi-screen UI generation from prompts, screenshots, and wireframes.

OpenStitch is an open-source AI UI design tool for developers and designers who want to turn text prompts, screenshots, or hand-drawn wireframes into frontend interfaces. It runs on the web or in a self-hosted environment, with Docker and Docker Compose support. Its scope extends beyond a single screen: users can generate multi-screen products, arrange screens on an infinite canvas, connect flows, preview linked navigation, and iterate with follow-up prompts.
The strongest fit is its multi-screen workflow. Shared design systems help keep generated screens aligned, while the workspace brings design, planning, and code into a side-by-side live preview. It also includes skills for responsive layouts, accessibility, animation, and layout generation. Interactive prototype play mode adds a way to review linked-screen navigation before exporting a ZIP archive containing screens, DESIGN.md, and HTML files. Model choice is flexible: OpenStitch uses local Ollama models by default and can also connect to OpenRouter, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini.
OpenStitch is most suitable for teams or individuals who want a local, open-source workflow and control over model providers. Its generated output is centered on HTML and Tailwind CSS, and the product does not include Figma import or GitHub sync, so established workflows built around either may need another tool. The project is intended for local or private-network use and has no authentication, which makes it a poor fit when built-in account controls are required. Choose OpenStitch for visual exploration, connected screen flows, and exportable frontend starting points; choose an alternative for deeper design-file integration or repository synchronization.
