OpenPRF review
A local browser tool for technical inspection and editing of compatible PS4/PS5 saves.

OpenPRF is an open-source browser application for inspecting and editing decrypted PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 save files. It is aimed at technically minded users working with compatible PRF saves who need access to file contents, configuration commands, metadata, hexadecimal data, and supported images. Files can be loaded through drag and drop or file pickers, and processing takes place locally in browser memory rather than uploading saves to a server.
Its strongest area is technical file access. OpenPRF can decrypt and re-encrypt PRF files using TripleDES, edit set, seta, sets, bind, unbind, and exec commands, read game metadata from sce_sys/param.sfo, preview supported image files, and display file metadata alongside hexadecimal data. It also exports individual files or complete save folders as ZIP archives. These capabilities make it more suitable for targeted save-file work than for a simplified progression editor.
The main workflow constraint is encryption scope: OpenPRF handles the inner PRF layer only, so the outer PS4/PS5 save-container encryption must be handled separately before loading a save and after exporting it. The tool is described as an unofficial community application, and keeping an original save copy is recommended. Choose OpenPRF if you need browser-based, local inspection and command editing for compatible PS4/PS5 PRF saves. Choose another editor if you need automatic backups, inventory editing, or an all-in-one console save-encryption workflow.
