Our verdict on Onward
Onward is a web-based goal-tracking app for individuals working toward skills, projects, habits, fitness targets, and other personal goals. Users enter a goal, then receive an AI-generated roadmap organized around milestones and weekly tasks. The app is designed to map a path forward rather than teach a subject or provide coaching. It can bring several goal paths together in one weekly chart, making it suited to people balancing multiple personal priorities.
The pricing is straightforward: the Free plan is available during beta and includes unlimited goals, AI-built roadmaps with milestones and dependencies, a weekly chart combining goals, daily task breakdowns with automatic rollover, and magic-link sign-in. Its most notable depth is in turning broad goals into actionable structure. Goal-path refinement and multiple narrator voices add ways to shape the planning experience, while the daily breakdown helps connect longer-term milestones with immediate tasks.
Onward’s narrow focus is also its main boundary. It is available on the web, so the experience is centered on browser access rather than dedicated mobile apps. The stated offering does not include integrations or collaboration features, which makes it less suitable for teams or workflows that depend on connected productivity tools. Choose Onward if you want a free individual planner that uses AI to organize several goals into milestones, dependencies, weekly views, and daily actions. Choose an alternative if mobile apps, integrations, or shared planning are central requirements.
