OneLogin Protect review
A focused authenticator for OneLogin push approvals and offline TOTP codes.

OneLogin Protect is a mobile authenticator for organizations using OneLogin and for individuals who need OATH-compatible tokens in third-party services. Its main workflow handles OneLogin sign-in attempts through push notifications, letting users approve or deny access from supported iOS and Android phones or watches. It also generates time-based one-time passwords, making it suitable for OneLogin customers who need both push authentication and TOTP codes.
The app’s standout capability is the combination of push approvals and offline code generation. Six-digit TOTP codes refresh every 30 seconds and can be generated without an internet connection. Push approvals can require biometric or PIN confirmation, while accounts can be enrolled by scanning a QR code or entering a setup key manually. This gives organizations using OneLogin SSO a direct mobile authentication path, while OATH compatibility extends the app to third-party apps and services.
OneLogin Protect is free as a mobile app, but its primary enterprise authentication workflow requires an active OneLogin account. The Basic workforce-identity plan includes OneLogin Protect and provides single sign-on, multifactor authentication, basic desktop access, and identity lifecycle management for 5 apps. Higher plans add capabilities such as unlimited identity lifecycle management, advanced directory, SmartFactor Authentication, Desktop MFA, HR directories, RADIUS, VLDAP, LDAP directory sync, delegated administration, multiple brands, and API access management. Backup and restore has been discontinued, and multi-device sync is not available. Choose it for OneLogin-centered authentication with push and offline TOTP; choose another authenticator if verified backup or synchronization across devices is essential.
