OKLegal brings case management, document work, client communication, intake, billing and legal AI into one cloud-based practice management platform. It is aimed at Latin American lawyers and firms, from independent practitioners to larger teams, especially those looking for configurable case workflows at a relatively low annual starting price. Case records can be organized with stages, tasks and deadlines, then viewed as a Kanban board, calendar or timeline. That mix makes it more than a matter tracker: the surrounding client and document workflows are a central part of the product.

Its breadth is the clearest reason to consider OKLegal. The document builder supports variables, reusable clauses, conditional blocks, version history and bulk generation; signatures can run through OKLegal, DocuSign, OpenSign or Costa Rican Digital Signature. A client portal brings together case access, document exchange, signatures, billing, payments, messaging, intake forms and appointments. Forms support conditional logic and can convert submitted information into case data. Legal AI covers drafting, document analysis, case chat, summaries, risk assessment and timelines. Calendar synchronization and integrations include Google Calendar, Gmail, Outlook, Office 365, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Stripe and Claude. Firms should assess which parts of this broad set fit their existing processes rather than assuming every capability is needed.

Pricing is per user. Esencial costs $29 monthly or $276 annually and includes case management, a client portal, unlimited document templates and electronic signatures, and basic billing. Profesional is $49 monthly or $468 annually; it adds unlimited cases, form analytics, time and expense tracking, advance accounts, reports and CSV export. Firma costs $89 monthly or $852 annually and adds advanced document and messaging automation, an outgoing webhook API, custom roles and granular permissions, priority support and dedicated onboarding. A 14-day trial is available without a required card. OKLegal also lists role-based access, two-factor authentication and audit logs; the vendor states GDPR principles, while SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications apply to infrastructure providers, not directly to the product. Firms needing mobile apps should look elsewhere.

OKLegal pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Connects case stages, tasks, deadlines, calendars and timeline views.
    • Combines document automation, electronic signatures and a client portal.
    • Includes intake, time tracking, billing, payments and legal AI assistance.
  • Where it doesn't
    • No mobile apps are listed among its platforms.
    • The full workflow set spans three paid tiers, with advanced automation on Firma.
    • Its focus on Latin American firms may not suit practices outside that region.
