NULVEX review
A specialized Android vault for notes that expire, self-destruct, or disappear on demand.

NULVEX is an Android secure-notes vault for privacy-focused users, including journalists and activists. Notes are stored locally by default in an encrypted vault using XChaCha20-Poly1305, while Argon2id hardens PIN and password-derived keys. Its focus is narrow and clear: protecting sensitive notes rather than providing a broad cross-platform workspace. Android users who need offline access and controlled note destruction should find the feature set closely aligned with that use case.
The standout protections go beyond ordinary encrypted note storage. Read-once notes are destroyed after their first opening, and time-to-live settings can automatically expire notes. A panic wipe removes vault data and keys, while a separate PIN can open a decoy vault. Biometric unlock and Android Keystore key wrapping add device-level access options. Encrypted local backups, encrypted note-sharing packages, and optional zero-knowledge remote sync or backup extend the protection model without changing the offline-first design.
NULVEX follows a freemium model with a free plan and Pro entitlement limits. Google Play lists ads and in-app purchases. The project is open source, distributed through Google Play, and publishes its source code on GitHub. Its Android-only availability is the main ecosystem constraint, especially for people who need notes across desktop or iOS devices. Choose NULVEX for highly sensitive Android notes where expiration, read-once access, panic wiping, and decoy storage matter most. Choose an alternative if cross-platform access or a broader productivity system is more important than specialized note protection.
