NTO Software is professional tax preparation software for individual tax preparers, tax offices, and multi-office service bureaus. Its coverage spans 1040 returns and business returns for Forms 1120, 1120-S, 1065, 1041, 706, 709, 990, and 5500. Firms working across C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, and nonprofits can use the platform for federal and state e-filing, electronic signatures, prior-year access, paperless document handling, and customizable reporting.
The two paid plans serve different operating preferences. Pro Web costs $599 and provides web-based access, unlimited users, e-signature, cloud storage, federal and state e-filing, and the current year plus up to five prior years. Desktop costs $999 and uses form-based input for individual and corporate returns, with e-signature, a paperless office, and web reporting. The plans therefore separate browser-based multi-user work from a desktop workflow, so the better fit depends on how a firm prepares and manages returns. There is no free plan.
NTO also extends beyond return preparation with a branded mobile app for secure document collection and messaging, plus refund-transfer bank products and cash advances. Integrations include Refund Advantage, SBTPG, Refundo, and Republic Bank. That combination suits offices seeking one product for varied entity types, client documents, signatures, and refund-related services. Firms focused only on straightforward individual filing, or those prioritizing clearly defined billing terms and a free entry tier, should consider an alternative instead.
