NonprofitBOD is board governance software for nonprofit organizations, bringing meetings, agendas, board packets, minutes, voting, compliance tracking, policies, documents, signatures, tasks and board development into one web-based system. It is designed for nonprofit boards, executive directors, board chairs, volunteers, consultants and management firms. The feature set also covers governance health scorecards, compliance calendars, committee management, board skills matrices, recruitment workflows and portfolio oversight for organizations managing multiple boards.
Pricing makes the product accessible to smaller organizations. The Free plan is free forever and supports up to five board members, with a governance cockpit and health scorecard, meetings, agendas and minutes, a compliance calendar, a board task queue and document library. Complete costs $49 per month when billed annually or $59 per month when billed monthly. It adds in-meeting and asynchronous voting, a policy library and starter kit, board matrix and recruitment tools, committees, a retention log, guided onboarding, electronic signatures and an AI assistant connection. Portfolio costs $149 per month with annual billing and adds unlimited boards on one login, portfolio health roll-up, one-click board switching and priority support. Nonprofit and annual discounts are available.
The breadth of governance workflows is the main reason to choose NonprofitBOD over a narrower meeting tool. Its combination of annotated and consent agendas, Secretary review for minutes, voting, compliance reminders, policy management, committee records, document retention and in-house signatures supports ongoing board administration rather than meetings alone. Claude and other MCP-compatible AI assistants can connect to the product, and AI-assisted minutes are included among its capabilities. The trade-off is platform scope: it is web-only, and the security page states that formal certifications such as SOC 2 are not yet held. Nonprofits seeking affordable, centralized governance workflows should consider it; organizations requiring a dedicated mobile app or formal security certifications should look elsewhere.
