Nomi is a cloud-based accounting and practice management suite for UK accountants, bookkeepers and accounting practices. It brings together practice management, CRM and onboarding, bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, final accounts, tax and company secretarial modules. Firms can select individual modules or combine them, making the product suitable for startups and established practices that want to assemble a service mix around their client base. Access is available through web, iOS and Android apps, and the product includes client portals, document management, workflow automation, deadline tracking, time and fees management, billing and invoicing.

Pricing is modular and billed monthly, with charges varying by service. Company Secretarial starts at £0.30 per business per month. Payroll, Pension & CIS costs £2 per client per month, while Bookkeeping & VAT and Practice Management cost £4 and £10 per client per month respectively. Self Assessments and Final Accounts cost £4 per submission. The plans are shown in GBP plus VAT, and the product offers a 30-day free trial. This structure can suit firms that need only selected functions, but comparing total cost requires mapping each client and submission to the relevant module.

Nomi’s strongest fit is a UK practice that wants accounting workflows connected to compliance and client service. Listed integrations include Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, Zoho Books, GoCardless, Stripe, Zapier, SignEasy and pension platforms including NEST and Pension Sync. The suite also supports HMRC, Companies House and tax filing workflows, along with email, WhatsApp and SMS communications, mobile receipt capture and OCR, and AI features. Firms seeking a broad modular system should shortlist Nomi; practices needing a simpler single-purpose tool or more explicit capacity-planning controls may prefer an alternative.

Nomi pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Modular pricing covers practice, tax, payroll and company secretarial work
    • Client portals, workflows, deadlines and documents support daily practice operations
    • Web, iOS and Android access with broad accounting and payment integrations
  • Where it doesn't
    • Pricing mixes per-client, per-submission and per-business billing
    • Paid modules can become more expensive as client and service coverage grows
    • Capacity planning is not part of the listed practice-management features
