NocoBase is an open-source AI and no-code platform for building business systems and internal tools. It suits self-hosted teams that need more than a basic table interface, especially when relational data, custom application screens, permissions, workflows, and APIs must work together. Its WYSIWYG builder supports pages, blocks, and actions, while AI employees can assist with analysis, form filling, document recognition, and task routing.

Pricing is license-based rather than seat-based. The Community Edition is free and includes self-hosting, full source code, unlimited users, applications, and records, plus a WYSIWYG no-code interface. The Standard Edition costs $800 one time and adds a lifetime commercial license, custom branding, external MySQL and PostgreSQL data sources, and large-volume Excel import and export. The Professional Edition costs $8,000 one time and adds client application development, single sign-on, advanced workflows, and record history. Enterprise adds cluster deployment, audit logging, additional external data sources, and multi-application and multi-space architecture.

Its platform fit is broad: NocoBase connects with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, MSSQL, REST APIs, Gmail, Outlook, Slack, Telegram, and WhatsApp. It also offers HTTP APIs, API keys, CLI, MCP connectivity, plugin management, backup and restore, migration, and release management. That breadth makes it a strong candidate for teams extending internal business applications on their own infrastructure. Teams that want a hosted service, seat-based monthly pricing, or a simpler setup should look for a more narrowly focused option.

NocoBase pros and cons

  • Where it wins
    • Relational modeling covers one-to-one through many-to-many relationships
    • Fine-grained permissions include data, menu, plugin, and field access
    • Self-hosting, full source code, APIs, plugins, and workflow automation
  • Where it doesn't
    • Self-hosted deployment requires teams to manage their own infrastructure
    • Paid editions begin at a high one-time license price
    • Advanced capabilities are reserved for higher paid editions
