Our verdict on NIM
NIM is an on-premise, browser-based studio management platform for post-production and creative studios. It brings shot and task tracking, studio-wide and job-centric scheduling, timecards, bidding, expenses, job actualization, creative review, file tracking, version management, and financial reporting into one system. Its intended users include creatives, producers, executives, and administrators, with a particular fit for studios managing VFX production finance alongside creative workflows.
The published plans show two paid licensing options. Annual Licensing costs $30 USD per user per month with annual billing and a one-year minimum license. It includes access to all updates, enhanced support by email or video conferencing, and community support through NIM Labs Support Forums. Monthly Licensing costs $40 USD per user per month with monthly billing, includes the same update and support access, and requires internet access. The annual option does not require internet access. A 30-day free trial is available, and NIM is delivered as a virtual appliance on the customer’s network rather than as a cloud service.
NIM’s ecosystem fit is a central part of its appeal.
