Our verdict on Nextory
Nextory is a paid subscription service for streaming audiobooks and reading ebooks through mobile apps. It is aimed at families and households that want shared access to adult and children’s content, with separate profiles and recommendations for discovering books. The service supports audiobook streaming, ebook reading, search by title or author, offline listening and reading, and access through iOS and Android. Four profiles are included on each plan, making the service a practical fit for shared household use.
The plan structure centers on monthly usage limits. Mini includes up to 10 hours of reading and listening per month, while Standard raises that allowance to 30 hours and Plus to 60 hours. All three include four profiles, with one profile able to read and listen simultaneously. Unlimited removes the monthly usage cap and allows one to four profiles to read and listen simultaneously. Nextory offers a 14-day trial, but there is no free plan for ongoing access. This structure suits households that can estimate their monthly usage, while frequent listeners and readers are better matched to Unlimited.
Nextory’s strongest practical feature is its combination of family profiles, children’s content, offline access, and both audio and ebook formats in one subscription. Personalized recommendations and title-or-author search add discovery tools without narrowing the service to audiobooks alone. However, the mobile-only platform limits its fit for people who expect broader device support, and the capped plans may require attention to monthly usage. Choose Nextory for shared family reading and listening across iOS or Android; consider an alternative if desktop access, wider platform coverage, or uncapped listening is a priority on a lower tier.
