Netwrix Auditor for SQL Server is designed for security, database administration and audit teams that need visibility into SQL Server activity. It tracks logons, configuration changes, permissions, privileged DBA actions and database-content modifications. Predefined activity and compliance reports, alerts for critical event patterns, investigation tools and scheduled reporting support ongoing review of database access and changes. The product runs on Windows Server or Windows desktop systems and uses Microsoft SQL Server to store audit data.
The Free Community Plan provides configuration-change, read-attempt and logon reporting, a daily activity summary, and before-and-after modification values. It is available without expiration and gives smaller teams a way to monitor core SQL Server events without starting with a paid license. The Business Essentials plan is a commercial Netwrix Auditor license plan. Enterprise Advanced adds an integration API, interactive search, risk assessment, behavior-anomaly dashboards and role-based access control. A 20-day trial is also available for evaluating the product before adoption.
Its strongest fit is a SQL Server environment where auditing depth matters more than broad platform coverage. Risk assessment, behavior-anomaly discovery and alerts extend the product beyond basic event collection, while the REST API supports integration with surrounding systems. Compliance frameworks and audit templates are included in its category capabilities. Teams managing multiple database technologies, or looking for a general-purpose audit management suite, should consider a broader product instead. Choose Netwrix Auditor for SQL Server when the priority is focused monitoring of SQL Server activity, permissions, configuration and content changes.
