Netskope Next Gen Secure Web Gateway review
Enterprise web gateway combining TLS inspection, DLP, threat defense and browser isolation.

Netskope Next Gen Secure Web Gateway is a cloud-delivered service for mid-market and enterprise organizations protecting web, SaaS and cloud traffic. It applies adaptive policies to users on managed or unmanaged devices, regardless of location, through Netskope’s Security Service Edge platform. The product combines web filtering, threat protection, data-loss prevention and cloud-application controls in one gateway, with support for web and iOS access.
Its security depth centers on single-pass TLS inspection for web and SaaS traffic. Anti-malware defenses include machine-learning analysis and sandboxing, while real-time detection targets phishing and malicious files. Administrators can create custom web categories and use dynamic ratings, apply inline DLP to web, SaaS and AI traffic, and review behavioral analytics and anomaly detection. Remote browser isolation adds a containment option for risky websites, and cloud application controls include instance awareness for more specific policy enforcement.
Netskope uses a contact-sales licensing model and does not offer a free plan. Deployment is cloud-based, with documentation listed as the support channel. That structure suits organizations prepared for centrally managed security policies and a sales-led procurement process. The gateway covers a wide set of web-security controls, including phishing and malware blocking, but it is not positioned as a focused application firewall. Organizations seeking web, SaaS and AI traffic inspection with DLP and isolation should consider it; teams needing on-premises deployment, broader support channels or a dedicated application-firewall focus should evaluate alternatives.
