A broad toolkit for prototyping voiced, interactive NPCs across major game engines.

Neocortex is a platform for creating AI-powered game characters, smart NPCs, conversation flows, and voice-controlled interactions. Its node-based editor is designed for building character logic and interactions, while knowledge bases add contextual information to characters. The product is aimed at game developers, studios, educators, and teams creating games, VR experiences, assistants, or other interactive applications. It supports voice cloning from recordings or uploaded audio, AI voice design from descriptive prompts, and programmatic chat, speech generation, streaming speech, and transcription through its Web API.
The plan structure supports early experimentation before commercial production. The Free plan costs €0 per month and includes free in-editor testing, SDK and Web API access, community support, and personal use. Starter costs €11 per month with email support and personal and academic use. Pro costs €35 per month and adds multi-NPC group chat, five custom voices, commercial use, and email support. Team costs €119 per month, adds 20 custom voices, a quiz evaluation engine and API, commercial use, and priority support. Custom adds unlimited characters and usage, custom software and app development, SDK customization, and self-hosted or private infrastructure deployment.
Platform coverage is a major part of Neocortex’s fit. Unity receives tools for audio chat, actions, interactables, group chat, and usage gating; Unreal provides Blueprint-accessible components and voice input; and Godot supports chat, voice, history, event logging, and usage endpoints. The Web API extends those capabilities beyond a single engine. Teams should consider Neocortex when they need conversational characters across Unity, Unreal, or Godot and want both visual authoring and API access. Smaller projects needing only basic voice generation may not need its broader character, knowledge-base, and interaction features.
