Neir review
A privacy-focused webmail service with useful controls but no end-to-end encryption.

Neir is a privacy-focused email service for individuals who want encrypted webmail, limited account data collection, and no advertising profiles. It provides browser-based email with encrypted webmail body copies, Account Key and recovery phrase authentication, aliases, deletion controls, spam and malware filtering, and optional two-factor authentication. Neir operates from Sweden and supports access through standard mail protocols as well as its web interface.
Pricing is straightforward. The Free plan costs $0 per month and includes a 10 MB mailbox, encrypted webmail, 10 random aliases, and zero activity logging. The Pro plan costs $4.99 per month and increases storage to 5 GB, adds unlimited aliases, auto-delete controls, an @neir.io address, and priority support. The paid tier suits users who need more storage, a larger alias setup, and additional account controls; the Free plan is better for lightweight personal use.
Neir also fits users who want conventional email-client access. IMAP and SMTP are available with app passwords, POP3 works over SSL/TLS, and the service lists Thunderbird, Apple Mail, and Outlook as integrations. Its privacy features include remote image proxying and no advertising pixels, cross-site trackers, or third-party analytics SDKs. The main boundary is important: ordinary SMTP and IMAP email is not end-to-end encrypted, while OpenPGP encryption applies to webmail body copies stored at rest. Users prioritizing privacy-focused webmail and aliases should consider Neir; those requiring end-to-end encryption or broader platform coverage should choose another provider.
