MYOB Business is cloud accounting software for Australian sole traders and small to medium businesses that need more than basic invoicing. It combines customer invoicing and quotes, connected bank accounts, transaction matching, expense management, GST and BAS workflows, reporting, inventory, and payroll add-ons. The MYOB Assist mobile app supports invoice creation, receipt capture, and expense management on iOS and Android, while browser-based plans cover Lite and Pro users. AccountRight plans add Windows desktop capabilities.
Pricing spans several operating models. Lite costs AUD 315 per year and includes GST and BAS work, inventory and orders, with payroll for up to 2 employees available as an add-on. Pro costs AUD 70 per month and adds unlimited bank accounts, sales orders, and unlimited employees for the payroll add-on. AccountRight Plus costs AUD 165 per month and includes unlimited inventory, priority support, unlimited payroll, timesheets, and rosters. AccountRight Premier adds multiple currencies, time, budgets and jobs, plus unlimited inventory and multiple warehouse locations. A 14-day trial is available, and the product does not have a free plan.
The main choice is between browser-based bookkeeping and the deeper desktop-oriented AccountRight range. Businesses focused on GST, BAS, bank reconciliation, receipts, and standard payroll can find the core capabilities in Lite or Pro. Companies managing larger inventory operations, multiple warehouses, timesheets, rosters, jobs, budgets, or multiple currencies have clearer reasons to consider the higher tiers. MYOB Business is a strong fit for Australian operations that want bookkeeping, payroll, and inventory in one product. Smaller businesses seeking free software, or teams that do not need payroll, GST, inventory, or the broader accounting feature set, may prefer a simpler alternative.
