mWater is a cloud-based data collection, management, analysis and visualization platform for water, sanitation and hygiene programs. Governments, utilities, NGOs, researchers, businesses and community organizations can design and translate surveys, collect responses through web, iOS and Android applications, map sites and infrastructure, and manage field workflows. Offline collection, GPS, photos, electronic signatures, assignments, approvals and dashboards make it suited to programs that gather structured site data in areas with intermittent connectivity.
The standard platform is free and does not use per-user fees. Optional Support Membership costs $500 per month or $5,500 per year and adds priority handling for complex support requests, a dedicated Slack channel and 10 complex technical assistance tasks per year. High Volume Data has the same monthly and annual prices, increasing API data storage from 10,000 to 1,000,000 rows, raising import limits and adding full read/write API access. Custom Surveyor app configuration costs $25,000 one time, while the Light Blue organizational data hub costs $50,000 one time. These options fit organizations that need added support, capacity or branded deployments rather than conventional per-user plans.
For field programs, mWater combines interactive maps, dashboards, charts, response management, CSV, JSON and GeoJSON exports, and API integrations. It connects with DHIS2, Power BI, Google Sheets, Tableau and MCP, and includes AI-assisted external API imports and exports. The platform’s breadth is strongest around water, sanitation, health and infrastructure surveys, including multi-step handoffs and site records. Organizations seeking a general-purpose form builder outside this focus may prefer a broader alternative; teams running geographically distributed survey programs should consider mWater when offline capture, mapping and structured workflows are central requirements.
