Our verdict on MUBI
MUBI is a paid streaming service centered on hand-picked films and series, for viewers who prefer a curated catalog to a general-purpose library. It supports web, iOS and Android, with playback also described for phones, tablets, computers, smart TVs and streaming players. The service has no ads, and eligible films and series can be downloaded in HD for offline viewing on mobile. It allows viewing on up to five devices, with two simultaneous screens.
The two memberships serve different priorities. MUBI Classic is the streaming-only option; its annual plan is listed at $119.88, billed as a single annual payment, and a 7-day free trial is shown. MUBI GO includes streaming plus a weekly cinema ticket in select cities, and its monthly plan is listed at $19.99 with a 7-day free trial. Both plans are ad-free. The ticket is the main reason to consider GO over Classic, but its city limitation matters: it is most relevant to people who can actually use the local cinema benefit.
Device and platform support is reasonably broad for a focused service: members can stream on supported phones, tablets, computers, smart TVs and streaming players, with Google Cast and Apple AirPlay support. Offline downloads are limited to eligible titles and mobile apps, and playback quality or feature availability can depend on location, device and subscription tier. Choose MUBI for curated film discovery, mobile downloads or the GO cinema benefit; viewers seeking a broader all-purpose catalog, more than two simultaneous screens, or a cinema ticket outside select cities should look elsewhere.
