Our verdict on Mr. Rebates

Mr. Rebates is a free shopping rewards service for online shoppers who want cash back from eligible purchases at participating stores. Members can browse merchants and coupons, search for stores or products, and track pending and available rebates in an account. It is best suited to shoppers who are comfortable starting their purchases through the service’s links; it is not a general-purpose price-tracking tool based on the described features.

Its workflow combines store discovery with rebate management. Online coupons and store favorites help organize shopping, while the web service, iOS and Android apps, and Chrome extension offer several ways to access the account. The extension provides reminders and cash-back activation at participating stores, and the mobile apps support shopping and account management. The central limitation is that eligible cash back depends on purchases made through Mr. Rebates links, so shoppers who want automatic rewards regardless of how they reach a retailer should consider another approach.

Membership is free, with no paid tier described. Available rebates can be requested by check, PayPal, Venmo, or Amazon gift card, subject to eligibility and minimum payout requirements. Support channels include email and documentation. The terms also describe a possible maintenance deduction for accounts inactive for more than 12 consecutive months, which is distinct from a subscription fee. Choose Mr. Rebates if retailer-linked cash back, coupons, and rebate tracking fit your shopping routine; look elsewhere if your priority is verified price history or comparison features rather than rewards.
