Our verdict on Motjour
Motjour is a vocabulary-learning product for people who want brief, consistent exposure to a new language. Each daily word can include pronunciation information, an example sentence, a translation and a memory tip. The free plan supports one language, beginner-level words, daily notifications, email delivery, seven days of word history and no ads. It suits learners who want a lightweight routine centered on vocabulary rather than a broad course structure.
Pricing keeps the entry point low. The Free plan costs £0 per month and covers one language with beginner words and basic daily delivery. Pro Annual starts at £3.33 per month when billed annually and adds all 25+ languages, every difficulty level, quizzes, flashcards, streak protection, audio pronunciation and unlimited history. Pro Monthly costs £5.99 per month and includes the Pro features with the option to cancel any time. A seven-day free trial is also listed. This makes the annual plan the clearest fit for learners who expect to maintain the habit, while monthly billing suits shorter commitments.
Motjour’s strongest fit is narrow and clear: daily vocabulary practice delivered through the web. Its feature set adds useful reinforcement through quizzes, flashcards, audio, streak protection, dark mode and CSV export, but the product does not provide verified speaking practice, placement or personalized review. Learners who mainly need word exposure and recall support should find the focus appropriate; those seeking a fuller language course, speaking development or adaptive progression should choose a broader alternative. Its web-only platform also makes it less suitable for buyers who specifically want native mobile apps.
