Moneypenny review
A receptionist-led phone service with business numbers, diversion, AI and CRM integrations.

Moneypenny combines business phone numbers with outsourced telephone answering, virtual receptionist services and AI receptionist support. It is suited to businesses that want calls answered in their company’s name, transferred to the right person, captured as messages or used for lead qualification and appointment booking. The service covers small businesses through larger organisations, with regional, national and freephone numbers alongside mobile business-number calling, recording and voicemail transcription.
Pricing starts at £10 per month for a Local phone number, which includes a regional business number, the Clever Numbers app, 200 landline minutes and 200 mobile minutes. The Regional or national phone number plan costs £12 per month and includes a regional or national number, an online portal, 200 landline minutes and 200 mobile minutes. The Freephone number plan costs £15 per month and includes an 0808 number and the Clever Numbers app. A seven-day free trial is available. These plans focus on numbers and associated access; receptionist answering and other communications services are separate parts of the offering.
Moneypenny’s strongest fit is for organisations that value human call handling and want it connected to existing systems. Integrations include Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho CRM, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Pipedrive, Calendly, Google Sheets, Microsoft Teams, Zapier and an API, with additional property-sector integrations. Call diversion can send calls to mobile, office or colleague numbers, while VIP and blocked caller controls add basic call management. Choose Moneypenny for receptionist-led coverage and communications support; choose a conventional cloud PBX instead if the priority is a broader self-managed phone system.
Moneypenny pros and cons
- Where it wins

- AI receptionist supports call routing and knowledge-base queries.
- CRM, API and business-number integrations cover multiple workflows.
- Where it doesn't
- Answering services and added features may cost more than the number plans.
- The core offer is outsourced answering and diversion, not a standalone cloud PBX.
- Plan-specific access varies between the Clever Numbers app and online portal.
